Is it a Blog or a Blab?

HahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This was a question posed to me today!

Let me set up the story…

As Sofia used to say on Golden Girls:  Picture this…

Gabi’s basketball practice this morning.

Talking with the coach’s wife.

Here comes Gabi and the coach.

We start chatting and laughing about the “Kindle” post (you can access it here at https://athankfullyimperfectwoman.com/2013/02/14/hrmph-and-there-goes-the-kindle/).

I then informed everyone that Gabi was fine with the post (after she read it) until her sister called from college and in the course of the conversation…on speakerphone…said “So I hear Gabi lost her Kindle”.

Oh boy did I get a look as she says “EVERYBODY knows I lost my Kindle”!

This was the point in the conversation when her coach said “Hey Gabi – is it a Blog or a Blab?”

Of course, she looks at me and says “Yeah Mom!?!”

I burst out laughing, and looked at him and said “Good point!”

So yes, I do suppose I will need to watch what and how I post.

And trust me – I already am – I’ve been getting trained by the 23 year old on what’s ok and not ok to put/do on Facebook.

Ugh, it stinks getting old.

Obviously we’re not “IN” anymore.

When did this happen?

We used to be so cool!

We knew what was ok and not ok to do…taught our children all the do’s and dont’s, the rights from wrongs – all the social graces.

When did the tables turn?

Am I already in the “over the hill” crowd?

I’m only 46!

I didn’t expect that for another 10-14 years!

Hrmph.

{arms crossed…besmudgened look on my face}

I think I’m doing quite well, thank you very much.

So I’ll continue on with my posts.

Carefully, that is…

With my children’s psyche’s in mind…:)

ps…the picture is of the roses I bought 1/2 price after Valentine’s Day for $15…and the mouse that my hubby bought me (I told him I’d seen it and wanted it – it reminded me of my blog post The Mouse, the Fudge Fluff and Ronald!) he’s so good to me!https://athankfullyimperfectwoman.com/2013/01/30/the-mouse-the-fudge-fluff-and-ronald/)

  1. Yes, Patty YES! It is a blab! Isn’t it? Unfortunately I too, have become uncool, my kids having made me redundant…
I have to carefully make a decision about writing my “lets tell you about the kids” blogs, I’m in the middle of 3, (cathartic, unexpectedly very emotional post!), and have permission from all the kids…..
All except 5 who has said NO to any mention of him specifically in my blog. I know he doesn’t read it, but his girlfriend does….
I’ve gotten away with a couple of mentions, and I know he’s just being difficult, as that’s what he does best! What to do tho, what to do??

    • Ahhhhh!!! I just totally (quietly) screamed a little that you commented on my blog…errr…blab! OK, corny I know but I LOVE your blog so the fact that you did is AWESOME. And the fact that you can relate is great…

I look forward to reading more of your children in your blab! 🙂

      Happy day to you too!

  3. Mine must not feel too violated yet, they haven’t said anything – i don’t think my 16 yr old takes the time to read but my eldest (23) occasionally catches those spelling errors that I make when I’m blogging past 10pm 🙂
