My Honey and I had a Date!
Just look at this picture…
Isn’t it wonderful?
Romantic candles, appetizing food, lovely atmosphere…and a printer in the background.
Remember the name of my blog?
A Thankfully Imperfect Woman.
In my defense, Tim came home early!
He thought he wouldn’t be home until 6. He arrived home at 5:45.
I swear I would have had the table all set…the asparagus steaming…the steak shaped as a heart broiling…and the printer put away.
It’s only there because I sold our desk…another one of my brainy ideas that earned one of my husbands questioning looks. I told him of my grand plan.
I think as soon as I say the words grand plan he silently cringes inside. Not on the outside mind you…he’s a very patient man…and God bless him, he always looks at me with interest, waiting for me to reveal said “grand” plan.
This time my idea includes a file cabinet or two…and an old door.
Can’t you just see it?
What a fabulous desk it will be…3 pieces with a history (not new items – yuck, phew (spitting) – who wants new!). I want something that’s lived a full life, that has a story to tell, and I want to give it a new life as a desk.
And I would really like to get rid of the file boxes I have (can I have another Yuck!).
This all happened about a month ago.
Alas, we’re living without a desk yet.
But I refuse to give in and put something else there.
The pieces will show up when they’re supposed to.
In the meantime I’ll just keep imagining my grand plan.
Today, my mother-in-law gave me an awesome old wooden chair that she used when she was in charge of a huge Ben Franklin store. She had it redone and now decided it was time for it to find a new home.
And it’s going to be my new office chair!
Yup, all in good time…
Like our date night.
It may have been a long time coming, but it was well worth it as we made dinner together, ate by candlelight, clinked wine glasses to our wonderful lives together…
and ate by the printer.
Imperfection at it’s best.
