Happiness is…Baby Snuggles

A baby snuggle can be the best medicine.
Sam is doing really well since her surgery on Friday, still quite sore but when we were bestowed with a baby to watch today, we were both smiling.
When it came to nap time, I rocked her to sleep and then laid her in Sam’s good arm so they could snuggle and take a nap…and Sam beamed before she too nodded off.
My baby holding another sweet baby.
Ahhhh…it did my heart good.
God is good…always.
We, of course, had a few chuckles at baby (and ourselves) today…
The moment baby found the helium balloon and the ribbon stopped straight up the middle of her face…she paused, looked around and then crossed her eyes trying to see it!
And later baby Nicole was crawling (butt-scooting) around with Sam’s Get Well balloon stuck to her and all Sam could see from the couch was her balloon moving through the living room!
We’ve certainly had a few moments of giggles while Sam’s been on her pain medicine.
We won’t share all of those…
But here’s one: just think me…
Laughing until I cried at the sight of Sam…
One moment wide awake…
And the next with her head tilted back, eyes closed, mouth open…
Out cold.
Obviously I was a little overtired too as I laughed hysterically…
And obviously I’ll be getting that Mother-of-the-Year Award again this year.
I hope whatever your days are bringing you – you can find some humor and maybe a few good old belly-laughs in them!

ps…did you notice Sam’s Bling Sling on her arm? Her doctor said he’s calling it a BBS…Bling, Bling, Sling – he even took a picture of it! Sam thought as long as she was having another surgery on her elbow she’d bedazzle her sling…it turned out great, didn’t it? She may have a new career in the works! Here’s a better picture of it…
You’re so funny. Glad things are going better. Maybe drop a piece of soft candy into her open mouth next time. 🙂

It was just like a cartoon strip. One moment wide awake, next…out. Still chuckling…
