The Great Swiss Cake Roll Heist

I purchased a box of Swiss Cake Rolls as a treat for my family last week (Friday).

I informed my youngest that we were only going to have one a day…

Yes, we had to make that clear to her (and myself).

We do love our sweets around here!

We each had one that day…

And then the weekend came and went and with other goodies in the house, I skipped the cake rolls.

You know where this is going don’t you?

Yup.

After a meeting on Monday, all I could think about was how nice it would be to get home, relax, have a cup of coffee and a treat…yup…a Swiss Cake Roll.

I happily walked through the door and headed to my cabinet.

Opened the door and …

No Swiss Cake Rolls, no box, no nothing!

I said out loud:  “You Guys Stink!” (laughing of course)

I couldn’t wait until they got home from school so I could tease them about eating all our treats.

The story got even funnier when I confronted the two (with a smile on my face).

Tim looked at me blankly and said “I didn’t even eat any”…

Which led us to both look at Gabi…

She put her hands facing up, shoulders shrugging…”What?  Mom said I could have one a day!” (I guess I didn’t clarify one “treat” a day.)

And so she did.

I didn’t mean she HAD to eat one a day…

But I guess I should be glad she stuck with only one.

I did fix those two…

I bought them a box and I bought myself a box when I was at the grocery store on Tuesday.

And I marked them with their names on one and mine on the other!

So there.

Now my box can last me as long as I want…

and their box is almost gone…

thanks to Gabi again. 🙂

Maybe we’ll have to swear off Swiss Cake Rolls for a while…

Carrots, celery, cauliflower?

Hrmph.

Yes, we do eat lots of healthy foods on a daily basis, really we do.

Although you wouldn’t know it from my posts so far, remember The mouse, the Fudge Fluff, and Ronald?

The adventures continue…

  1. I have a rather similar problem here. I can’t eat bread or rice or grains or any grain product, so it riles me when Fitty and the kids eat the food I have set aside for “my” meals.
If they eat the last avocado or tomato for instance, and then I come in for lunch and there’s plenty of bread, meat, dairly produce etc, but the thing I thought I would eat has been eaten? Aaargh!! No sweet smile here! 😦

    • I get it! But much more frustrating for you, as mine are just sweet treats that I shouldn’t have anyway. I recommend big black markers on the bag or container marking MOM’s!!! Hope it works!

  2. Cute, I love my sweets too; my hubby and I were arguing today over who was going to eat the last Keebler Dark Chocolate Fudge cookies 🙂
