To My Baby Girl on Her Birthday
by Patty O on September 25, 2013

Today my oldest daughter turns 24.
This girl, this special, always older than her age girl, is filled with the strength of a lion and the softness of a lamb. She can draw a hard-line with her quick wit. She can touch you deeply with her soft heart. She protects those she loves with a fierceness that will put any offender in their place. And she can get after those same loved ones for driving her crazy.
She loves. She worries. She excels. She recedes. She smiles. She cries. She swears. She needs.
She is a woman.
A perfectly imperfect woman.
Like her Mom, but better.
And even though I miss my little girl, I love the woman she’s become, and I’m proud of her.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl.
Happy Birthday Alex.
Love, Mom

There’s just something about the relationship between a mom and a daughter that just can’t be compared to anything else. Words aren’t adequate. Happy Birthday to your oldest. May she always bring you great joy.

Yes there is. And I’m fortunate to have 3 daughters and three wonderful relationships. We certainly have our moments, as life with girls does, but they are my most precious gifts from God!
