I have 5 Auto-immune issues along with a few other health problems. One of these issues I’ve had ALL my life, the next was diagnosed in my 20’s. The 3rd in my 30’s…4th and 5th in my 40’s.
By the time Fall of 2017 came around I was in really tough shape and thought I’d be in a wheelchair within 5 years. I literally couldn’t exercise. I worked with a Physical Therapist who acknowledged too that any exercise program seemed to be too much for my system and we talked about starting out really slowly. I’d try to bike on my recumbent bike and after 10 minutes I’d be exhausted and have a hard time walking up the basement stairs.
Now let’s talk about what changed.
That same Fall of 2017 I decided to try some plant based supplements that my friend kept telling me about.
I had been a lot of pain and my Rheumatologist wanted me to start taking a stronger prescription drug that I knew could have really bad, permanent side effects and I just didn’t want to put that in my body.
I started taking the supplements like I take my prescription medicines…faithfully, every day…and I started to see results.
Within a week my bloating was gone. Within a few weeks I realized my sugar cravings were gone. Within a month I realized my pain was less. Within 6 months I was dropping prescriptions (under the careful eye of my Dr’s). Within a year I was taking 8 LESS prescriptions.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago…and I decided to try this exercise thing again.
The first day I got back on our recumbent bike I rode 5 miles in about 23 minutes. AND…I got off the bike and walked spryly up the basement stairs. I’ve committed to biking 5 times a week.
Yesterday I rode 7 miles.
