Fall’s Beauty and God’s Grace

Fall is here and it brings with it a renewed sense of energy for me – I love the cooler temps, the beauty of the colored leaves, the bonfires, the fact that school is back in session and learning is in progress and with the falling leaves brings the sense of renewal.

Every year we see the splendor of beautiful colors, we experience the sadness of the falling leaves, but as our weather turns color, we get beautiful white snow that covers everything…

And while the earth lays dormant we strongly walk on.

As it is with God’s grace.

Through tough times, God continues to show us beauty and even if we don’t acknowledge Him, He lays dormant in our hearts waiting for us to let His light shine in.

And then Spring arrives and with it the beauty of renewed life.

It’s in that moment in our lives that we acknowledge that He’s been with us all along.

Our lives awaken just like the flowers bloom.

God is good.

Today was a Blog-Worthy Day

Not that there haven’t been others, but today seemed exceptionally blog worthy.

This was my schedule when I started:

9 a.m. Meet with a friend to look over his vintage and antique items he wanted me to sell for him.

1 p.m. Meet with a friend for tea (it’s been months since we’ve gotten together).

Then a client wanted to meet after to go through her orders. {Add one client meeting at about 3:00 p.m.}

At 8:30 I received a call from the Sewer Roto-router guy that he’d be arriving at 10:00/10:30. (Yeah…that mess happened two days before.) {Change 9 a.m. meeting to after roto-router guy so we have more time to visit.} Read more

Will I trust him…not with my life or yours.

I have to give one last political rant.

I am seeing good people, people who I believe are good Christians, talking about how the Country will now go back to Christian values and become Godly again.

I AM COMPLETELY BAFFLED.

You believe that Donald Trump is the person who will do this?

HOW?

Have you completely ignored his racism, his use and abuse of workers, his bankrupties, his mocking of a handicapped man, his plans to stop helping people/immigration? Have you completely ignored his own claims of sexual abuse towards women?

Is this who you see as bringing America back to Christian values?

Tell me you are against abortion. That I can understand. I may not completely agree with you, but I can understand your stance.

Tell me you wanted change. That I believe.

But to elect this man because you believe he is what God wants to make America more Christian goes against all the love, compassion, and goodness that I believe Jesus brought us.

Donald Trump is evil.

I fear for my daughters. I fear for my LBGT relatives and friends. I fear for my handicapped friends. I fear for my relatives and friends who are black, brown, or any other color that Trump doesn’t like. I fear for my relatives and friends who are of a different religion or background.

Know that I support you. Know that I will ALWAYS fight for you.

And to my friends who are proclaiming a win for Christianity, I am here for you too.  Because even though I believe differently, you are still my friends.

I will go on to fight the good fight.

There will be some good that comes out of this and that is the solidarity of many people who do believe in love and good.

That will be done in spite of President Elect Trump, because neither his words nor actions are either of those.

Donald Trump is not my kind of Christian.

Will I pray for him, yes.

Will I trust him…not with my life or yours.

Reminders of Love, Faith and Gratefulness

I happened upon a Facebook post of one of my friends just now.

I want to thank Sue for sharing it with her family and friends.

As you’ll read in the link below, she and her husband took our town with them on a journey of love, heartbreak, and faith.

Their son Sasha was the gift that God gave us all so that we could see that beauty can shine through even during sadness.

This post was written just over 2 years ago.

It’s definitely my favorite post on faith, and probably the most heartfelt posts that I’ve ever written.

Without further ado, click on the link below…

God bless…and thank you…all 535 of you who read my ramblings.

You are appreciated and loved.

And Now, the Pièce de Résistance…My Dining Room

By now, you’ve seen most of my house, all decorated for Christmas…

The bedrooms, dressing room, and bathrooms only get a few touches of Christmas, so they really don’t need their own post.

But the dining room…now the dining room is another story.

For a couple of years now, I’ve wanted to put a (faux) Christmas tree in there.

I’ve had the perfect plan.

I’d collected ornaments from Goodwill and garage sales.

I’d picked up a Christmas tree from a friend who had decided to give it away.

But last year, sadly, I was just too sick to get all my decorations up, and that tree stayed in the basement.

But this year…

This year is different.

Without further ado, take a look at my dining room Christmas.  A moment of silence to appreciate the beauty…

I could stand here and look at it all day.  Especially from this view…
