Prayers, Gabi Sees Yoda, and I’m Hibernating…

I was having a hard time deciding what to write about today.

Obviously you can see I decided not to choose, but rather to go with all three subjects.

A serious subject, a fun subject and a couch with your favorite blanket and old movies kind of day subject.

First, in all seriousness…

I feel like I could start a whole new blog called:  Prayer Chain for our World.

I’m not so sure that maybe it isn’t something I should do.

Each of my last few posts has asked for prayer…

Prayers for little 6-year-old Carena.

Prayers for the families of the deceased and injured from Boston’s explosions.

Prayers for our World.

Literally including everyone.

And now we have West, Texas…

Another horrific event which has claimed so many lives and homes in a small community.

We’ll just keep praying, because that’s all we can do at this point isn’t it?

There are times of feeling helpless and that’s when we fall to our knees, fold our hands, or jump up to sing out a prayer…send out good vibes…or talk to whatever power you believe in – holding up incredible faith and hope for as good of an outcome as possible for these people…that they feel peace and faith in their hearts too…and comfort in knowing their loved one is with their God.

On to a funny moment:

Tim did the dishes the other day and had left a sink of water and bubbles left behind.

Gabi called me into the kitchen saying “Look Mom – it’s Yoda”!

I get up to see what she’s talking about and sure enough there he is…

To which I replied…

“Sure, some people see Jesus in things…my daughter sees Yoda.”

Hmmm.

And to the final topic of the day…

I’m hibernating…no two hour trip to the Dr’s office for this girl today (one way):

Look at this picture of our Christmas tree – which yes, is still sitting out on  our deck.

I’m sorry, I just had to leave it out there – it’s been so pretty each evening when the lights turn on!

Tim and I just talked a few days ago about how we really need to take it down as it’s getting so dried out and turning brown…

And then the snow hit once again…

The snow you see on it is just from today (it was bare this morning) and we’re supposed to be getting another 10 inches yet tonight.

(sigh)

And so for today and tonight, I’m  hibernating…

and watching the Christmas movies I dvr’d to watch during my recovery, with the lights twinkling on my Christmas tree outside – it is rather pretty isn’t it?

Yup…lemonade out of lemons.

And hey – I’m almost done watching the Christmas movies I had taped…

Maybe that will trigger Spring to finally arrive!

  2. I don’t blame you for watching Christmas movies, it must be devastating to be an American right now. Anything to cheer you up?

      • I have another appointment in Sydney 23rd May, but I’m still not sure whether he’ll do the procedure then. I have to be 100% for it to be successful…..
Since the last procedure have been in so much more pain so I’m just trying to cope with that at the moment. I feel a bit deflated and demotivated.
We are close to getting the fire in, just in time as the weather is cold and rainy right now.
The new kitchen is keeping me slightly excited, but I’m a bit dozey on pain killers all the time and forget what I’ve been doing a lot.
Work is fun….. I amaze myself that I balance my money each shift!

  4. Prayer is so powerful 🙂 . I still love the tree–can’t believe you have it up but glad you do. Hard to believe you are getting that much snow so late in the season. Beautiful and serene. Peaceful! Take care! 😀
