Baby Puke vs. Sam’s Feet

Yup…

Another “Mother of the Year” moment…

{said extremely sarcastically}

Just give me that crown now.

Picture this:  (said just like Sophia on the Golden Girls)

The daycare babies were at our house today…

Momma came at lunch, as she usually does for a visit.

I overheard her (sitting on the couch) telling Gabi:  Oh Nicole (the one year old) threw up – she hasn’t done that for a long time.  Jen (Momma) then proceeded to tease Gabi that maybe she was actually the culprit.

Now, take this fact in…I was not involved in cleanup.

So…..

Later on after the babies left…

Sam, who had returned home from her other job just before the babies left, proceeded to sit down next to me on the couch and remove her shoes.

This is it…

Ready?

I announced “OH…MY…GOD…your feet stink!”

She then proceeded to smell her feet (yes keep picturing this…the 19 year old smelling her feet). 🙂

And she just as strongly said “They do not!”

Well, let me tell you – each time she got up and sat down I smelled it again, I mentioned it one more time but then decided I’d better keep quiet – not wanting to give her a stinky feet complex.

Yes, you guessed it.

I sat down after Gabi’s game tonight.

Without Sam here.

And it wafted up to me again.

And I realized the smell is not stinky feet.

It’s baby puke.

Disinfectant in hand…

Apology on my lips and in writing:  I’m sorry Sam.

It wasn’t you or your feet…

It was Nicole.

Mother of the Year.

Crown me now.  (I’m sure Sam would like to.)

I loooooooooove you Sam!

You’re so pretty!  (That’s what she used to say to me when she wanted something.)
