Flowers Soothe the Soul…

We’ve had some pretty weird weather here in northern Minnesota…

It seems as though my flowers are as confused as we are.

Not that I’m complaining – you see it has somehow made my tulips so confused that they’ve been blooming for almost two weeks!

Just take a peek!

OK, I couldn’t resist putting a picture of the newest red Hens and chicks in there too.  AND, those fantastic Forget-Me-Nots – they’ve been blooming as long as the tulips.

Sad and sweet story – the Forget-Me-Not’s came as a seed packet from the funeral home as a gift when my Dad died.  What a sweet and wonderful gift which effectively reminds me of my Dad every Summer.  Not that I need anything special to remember Dad…he and Mom come to mind every day.

OK…a few sniffles and a smile later…here’s a few more fun shots:

My irises ready to bloom!  (This is only one small area!)

A fun shot of the Impatients Gabi received as a gift for helping backstage at a play…which I planted in a great old pot – and yes put an old water faucet in – just like Donna over at her Funky Junk Interiors blog!  I think it may need another plant or two to fill it out – oh darn, that must mean another trip to the greenhouse! 🙂

And finally, this fun old kettle that my friend Jan gave me (along with the pot above) – I planted a “leftover” plant from our local Garden Club fundraiser in it – how fun is that?  Please do take note of the “Our Father” that my Grandma stitched which I had framed after my Mom passed away.  I love it, more than I can say.

Oh and last but not least…

I just bought this Gooseneck Loosetrife plant (who comes up with these names anyway?) at one of our local greenhouses and planted it right behind this cross.  Lovely, don’t you think?  And, there’s more irises ready to burst open!

I hope you’ve had a blessed Monday…

Relax and enjoy your evening!

Beautiful flowers! What a gorgeous yard you have already. Mine is still buried in last year’s dead leaves, our protector for the winter. Maybe tomorrow?
