The Winner of the Worst Bed Head Competition

It’s official!

I thought I had bad “Bed Head” days…(of course I’m not going to show you!)

But then Jen brought the babies and I saw the back of Elena’s head.

Need I say more?

Look at that rat’s nest!

And what you can’t see is it poofs out about 5 inches from her head!

Happy Friday everyone – I hope this brought you a smile!

Hypocrisy

Sorry folks, I’m reblogging again. But this is FANTASTIC. What else do we say to ‘justify’ something we’ve said or done that leads us to hyprocrisy? Hmmmm….something to ponder today. Have a good and thoughtful day friends. Patty O

In a small town in America, a person decided to open up a bar business, which was right opposite to a church. The church & its congregation started a campaign to block the bar from opening with petitions and prayed daily against his business.

Work progressed. However, when it was almost complete and was about to open a few days later, a strong lightning bolt struck the bar and it was burnt to the ground. The church folk were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the bar owner sued the church authorities for $2 million on the grounds that the church through its congregation & prayers was ultimately responsible for the demise of the bar shop, either through direct or indirect actions or means.

In its reply to the court, the church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection that their prayers were reasons for the bar shop’s…

What is it for you?

For me,I write when I feel the inspiration whether it be something funny that’s happened, or realizing a blessing that’s been bestowed – flowers, gifts, and …, or feeling a moment of inspiration and wanting to share. I really like the way she explains it!

What is it that inspires you to write a post or story?

Is it a moment felt,
or a thought that overwhelms?

to tap on the keyboard,
or put pen to paper?

Is it words spoken by someone else,
which cannot go unanswered?

So much easier to do by writing,
than by actually answering.

Is it a sense of duty?
The promise we would stick to a schedule,
that taps away inside our heads,
and does not allow us to ignore its demands.

Is it an emotion,
which has built up inside?

Happiness, sadness, grief or celebration,
which we feel compelled to share.

Is it a compulsion?
An addiction so great,
we cannot function,
unless we have written or published.

Is it all of the above?
Every day a different calling,
which leads us to our writing.

A Parrot in the Northern Minnesota Woods and a Sweet Walk in the Alley

The little Miss’s Elena and Nicole have struck again…

Touching the funny bone and sweet, heart melting part of my heart.

It all started yesterday morning as we went for a walk down our alley. Β Well, in all reality, I walked, Elena rode our tricycle, and I pushed Nicole on her little car.

As we continued our walk (me intent on trying to steer little one year old Nicole), Elena said “What wath that?” Β I look up to see she’s looking into the woods and realize she’s asking about the bird songs we were hearing.

I found the little blackbird in a tree and as I tried to point it out to her she exclaimed “There it ith…it’th a parrot!” Read more

Welcome with a Little Vintage

If you were to come to my house, and come through the garage (which is the most used entrance), you’d find this fun little vignette. Β It’s aΒ Β bit of an ode to summer here in the Northland…

A few fun drink coolers for your water, or lemonade, or kool-aid for picnics.

A fun little lantern which is perfect for those summer nights…it reminds me of going night crawler hunting with Dad. Β (For those of you not from northern Minnesota, the night crawler (worm) is great bait for fishing!) Read more
