A Parrot in the Northern Minnesota Woods and a Sweet Walk in the Alley

The little Miss’s Elena and Nicole have struck again…
Touching the funny bone and sweet, heart melting part of my heart.
It all started yesterday morning as we went for a walk down our alley. Well, in all reality, I walked, Elena rode our tricycle, and I pushed Nicole on her little car.
As we continued our walk (me intent on trying to steer little one year old Nicole), Elena said “What wath that?” I look up to see she’s looking into the woods and realize she’s asking about the bird songs we were hearing.
I found the little blackbird in a tree and as I tried to point it out to her she exclaimed “There it ith…it’th a parrot!”
I almost started to argue with her but then stopped myself. Why crush this little girls excitement?
Nah…instead I said “WOW, look at that!”
She turned her head back to the road and biked off, looking rather pleased with her little 3-year-old self.
Our travels continued until we got to the spot where we turn our walk around (or else we’d go into the neighbor’s yard). At this point I decided I’d better not push little Nicole anymore (the front of her shoes were now worn off…oops…daycare provider of the year).
So up went our new little walker and away she went. Worn little shoes and all.
And she walked…and teetered…this way…and that way…and walked some more.
All the way back to our house.
It was that proud of herself kind of moment where if she could have, she would have said “Look Mom – no hands!”
The smile on her adorable little face was priceless…four little front teeth and all.
True ‘cheezers’ – as we call it.
Picture an adorable blue-eyed one year old with a big grin, little separated teeth showing, and eyes squeezed shut. Did I say adorable?
{sigh}
Have I told you how much I love these little ones?
BIG TIME.
Squeeze the stuffin’ out of them…play marching band around the couch…give and receive puppy kisses..kind of love them.
{happy sigh}

I can so relate and sure am missing mine right now. They are visiting daddy and the other grandparents in July. I’m enjoying the time off, cut can’t way to see how much they grown in a month! Enjoy!

Thanks Patty you brought back many memories of simpler times when that all it took to make her happy. I needed that today One is such a fun age and three’s can be sponges of learning. Shoes are repairable:) Wish I was back in those simple times again:)

Thank you for reading and commenting Joan.
I certainly understand how you feel. My love of babies and their simple times brought me to babysitting.
God bless the babies and God bless you!
