Do What You Can Do…

This picture and its saying are fantastic – a little sassy, but fantastic!

To all my fellow auto-immune disease sufferers – I say: Β Let’s raise a glass of water and toast ourselves – and to those who don’t understand and don’t want to try to understand – to heck with you!

We may take longer to do some things (work, rest, work again)…we may be more tired and achy… Read more

Sam, Sibling Rivalry and Laughing Until You Choke!

Having fun with daughters is the same as this Pinterest photo…and Sam and I went to Duluth yesterday and just like the photo says – we had WAY too much fun!

From trying on glasses frames…

To giggling about Β earlier days…

To almost choking to death in the process! Read more

“You’re so Cwabby?”

See this cute little hanging extender?

Well, I made it last week while Elena was here.

I love the little Hummingbird feeder, but it hung just way too high – we couldn’t see the little hummers feeding!

So off I went to find wire and my needle nose pliers.

Grab an end and twist…the other end and twist…

And Wha-laaaaaa!

It took all of 10 seconds.

I was so proud of myself!

I very loudly pronounced “I’M SO CRAFTY!”

Elena cocked her little head, looked at me and said “You’re so cwabby?”

I replied…”NO, NO, NOOOOOO”…”I’m so crafffffttttttyyyyy”.

She looked up at me again and said “Oh”.

And went off to play some more.

{sigh}

So much for my big proud moment…

It turned into a silly, giggle moment.

That’s ok, those are much more fun anyway!

I hope you have a good giggle today!

ps…Now that I look at it in the picture, I really could make it so much better…I might have to get craftier (not cwabbier). πŸ™‚

The Mathematician, The Woodworker, The Pope, The BOSS Fan, The Biker,

and the Dad, the Husband, and my Best Friend.

These are all terms to describe Timothy.

You’ve all read about the Math Teacher: Β Kudos to 20 Years of Teaching Math

He’s also a talented woodworker…yes, at times we call him “Tim the Toolman” although he’s much less accident prone than Tim Allen. Β He puts up with my brilliant hair-brained ideas…and calmly goes about building them. Β I have however, put my foot down…I’ve told him he can’t have a refrigerator and bathroom in his “shop”…because with three girls I may never see him again! Read more

Lessons from Dad…Fishing, Coffee Cans in the Boat, and Goose Hunting

I sure loved my Dad.

He taught me many lessons…

Girls can do anything, but don’t have to do everything: Β Our entire family went deer hunting (for food, not sport). Β Off I went to gun training (and was a pretty good shot I might add), but when it came to hunting season I decided I’d rather shoot a deer with a camera, not a gun…and Dad was ok with that.

Always keep your word: Β When Dad said the kids needed to be quiet and behave or he’d turn the car around and we wouldn’t get to go to Grandma’s house…he meant it. Β We found out the hard way. Β Grandma’s house was about 4 hours away and we were about 3 1/2 hours into the drive when he turned around. Read more
