Elena and The Photo Shoot

It rained the day of the photo shoot, which brought all the festivities indoors.

The session was a favor to my friend Barb Kellogg who is building her people portfolio…she already does wonderful pet and landscape photography.

The original plan was for her to shoot our family…Sam, Gabi, Tim and me.  However, I, having once again over scheduled myself, had the babies for the day too.

Thankfully, Jen (baby Momma) decided it would be a good idea to snap a few photos of the little ones too.

The fun began shortly after Barb arrived… Read more

Holy Hanna-andy What a Day!

You know the joke about skidding into death saying “Wow – what a ride!”?

I feel like that is appropriate for today.

And no…I don’t know where the saying ‘holy hanna-andy’ came from…

It’s just one of those saying that pops into my mind from time to time.

No rhyme nor reason…

ANYWAYYYYYY…..

It was just one of those days –

Woke up with a tension headache.

Quick coffee, breakfast treat, shower and on the road again…

4 hour round trip, dr’s appt, quick Menard’s stop and back in town just in time (ok a few minutes late) for our Young Life committee meeting.

2 hours later I get home to a daughter that wants to go to a sleepover (oops, my honey forgot we were getting family pictures taken in the morning)…needless to say the 12 year old was thrilled with having to change her plans.

A friend then stopped by to purchase one of our old bikes…

A LOVELY dinner made by my honey (God I love that man)…

Another friend stopped by to purchase the girls old Gameboy for her grandson.

And at last, here I am.

Visiting with you, sharing my story, with chocolate covered almonds and a glass of wine….

Aaaaahhhhhhh….

Much better.

Oh and in the background…the show Castle on TV.

And I’m on my newly cleaned (from baby urp) couch.

Thanking God that this day is just about done and bedtime will be here soon.

The babies are back tomorrow…and there’ll be pictures…and there’ll be fun…

And hopefully there won’t be any baby urp!

I hope your day was a little less hectic – feel free to tell me about your day in the comments section!  I’d love to have an actual conversation with you!

That’s all for now friends,

I’ll meet up with you again tomorrow.

Baby Puke vs. Sam’s Feet

Yup…

Another “Mother of the Year” moment…

{said extremely sarcastically}

Just give me that crown now.

Picture this:  (said just like Sophia on the Golden Girls)

The daycare babies were at our house today…

Momma came at lunch, as she usually does for a visit.

I overheard her (sitting on the couch) telling Gabi:  Oh Nicole (the one year old) threw up – she hasn’t done that for a long time.  Jen (Momma) then proceeded to tease Gabi that maybe she was actually the culprit.

Now, take this fact in…I was not involved in cleanup. Read more

I HAVE A GRANDPUPPY!!!!

Yes, you heard me right!

A Grandpuppy!

Let me formally introduce you to the new love of our family, Louis (pronounced Lew-ee)!

Isn’t he absolutely ADORABLE?

Of course I may be a little prejudice…

I can’t wait to meet this little man (err…English Bulldog).

Alex and her boyfriend Tom adopted sweet little Louis on Saturday.

I have refrained from racing down to meet him…I told Alex that they needed the weekend to bond.

I will wait…

I can wait…

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!

But…

Oh My Gosh…

I want to squeeze the stuffin’s out of this sweet little dog!

I will get my turn…

Grandma can be patient!

I think…

Have a blessed day everyone!

YOU…ARE NOT…A MAN!

This was the funniest comment of the day courtesy of my friend Patty.

She had just asked me how I was feeling and how the shoulder recovery was going.  I explained it was going great – 2 more months of PT – and then we’ll hopefully get the other shoulder fixed.

She looked at me incredulously and said:  “WHAT DID YOU DO?”

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I explained about the rock wall…blah, blah, blah.

She looked at me and said “Why were you building a rock wall?”

To which I said:  “I enjoy manual labor…and it’s beautiful!”

That’s when she said it.

“YOU…

ARE NOT…

A MAN!”

She went on to say, “Men say ARRRR” (making a growling sound)…”Women say aaaaahhhh” (making a sweet little sighing sound).

Needless to say, I haven’t laughed that hard in quite some time.

I told her “I’ll be sure to remember that the next time I get the urge to do manual labor!”

I’m still shaking my head and smiling…

I wish you could have heard her.

The way she said, so emphatically:  “YOU…ARE NOT…A MAN!”

Yes, I will remember this Patty.

Thank you for the literal laugh out loud today!

I hope you readers had a good LOL moment today too!

Happy Saturday!

Patty O
