Where Oh Where Did Our Silverware Go?

Odd topic for a blog?

Definitely…

But if you have children…who are or have been teenagers, you’ll understand.

Tim and I laughed tonight as we looked at our silverware drawer.

We’ve talked for a while now about how we’d really like to buy a new set of silverware…one that all matches, however it’s pretty low on the “want” list…with quite a few “needs” ahead of it!

Anyway, back to the silverware story…

I pulled out our spoons and found that we only had four matching pieces.Β  The other four are all odds and ends that we have NO IDEA where they’ve come from!

So, this lends the question…

Where did our spoons go…and who’s do we have…and are they from 4 different people?

Are our children not only absent-minded in losing our spoons but also thieves?

I’ve taken a picture of said silverware to hopefully identify the owners.

So here you are folks…

The one on the left is our design…

The four on the right are not…

Which reminds me of the Sesame Street song…”One of these things just doesn’t belong here…” actually make that four that don’t belong.

Here is the task I give you…

If you live here in Ely and any ofΒ my children have been to your house…

Go look at your silverware!

I will happilyΒ deliver your missing spoon…

And if you happen to have one matching mine – I’ll happily pick it up!

Or…

Maybe it’s just time to go silverware shopping.

By the way, if you have any extra Tupperware (pie keeper), or large cookie sheets – those might be mine too.

I love my children, I love my children, I love my children…(said in a mumbled chant).

Gotta say I don’t know who the second one from the right belongs to but we have the matching one in the cafeteria! So if any claims it send them to me next!

    • That’s too funny Sheila! I could send it with Tim and Gabi to school so you’d have two that match! πŸ™‚

  4. Love this! You gave me a much needed chuckle. Oh and we recently were gifted with some silverware from my mother in law for the same reason πŸ™‚
