Chick-a-dee-dee-dee!

I won’t be blogging for a couple of days, so I’d like to offer up a few things I’ve learned.

Life’s short..

Take time to rest (I know I will).

Breathe.

Take time to enjoy your family – young and old.

Ask questions of them.  Listen to their stories.  Write them down for future generations.

Find an antique or vintage piece and think about it’s past…think about how someone loved it so much they bought it and put it in a special place in their house.  As my nephew who owns The Inventorialist in Indianapolis, IN says:  “It’s lived an authentic life.” (See him at: http://www.theinventorialist.com/ Read more

The Serious Side and The Fun Side of Easter…

First the serious side:

It’s Easter morning…

For me this means waking in the knowledge that the Lord rose on this day so many years ago.

A morning to give thanks to God for sharing his Son. Read more

The Day the Lord Visited Me…

I was led to write this post after I read another blog this morning  (http://www.incourage.me/2013/03/beyond-locked-doors-jesus-where-i-can-hide.html?utm_source=%28in%29courage+Email+Subscribers&utm_campaign=de28761e55-INCOURAGE-RSS-EMAIL-CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email)

…it truly is the story of when Jesus came to me in my time of need.

You may appreciate it or you may think I’m crazy, but I feel in my heart it is the time to share it.  Do I have apprehension?  Most definitely.  But through my tears of fear, I feel it in my heart…this is my purpose at this moment. Read more

Shine On, Grandma, Shine On!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words…

Let’s see just how true that is…

Oh the stories behind this picture…

First off, let’s start with the vintage toasters, which don’t show up very well in this pic.  There’s a cute little scroll mark on the front.

I found them at the dump, with the cords cut off, and quickly snapped them up – putting them in our truck.  As I write this, I laugh, thinking about the look on my husbands face. Read more

Our peace is in Him.

I stopped at my favorite radio station yesterday.

If you are anywhere close to Duluth, Minnesota, I highly recommend you tune into Life 97.3.  It’s an uplifting and yet calming Christian station.

I found them on one of my trips last year as I was going through therapy for some past “stuff” I had to work through.  Parent “stuff”, sibling “stuff”, work “stuff”, me “stuff”…old “stuff” that just kept coming back to haunt me (thus the term PTSD).

The reason I stopped at the station was to thank them and to tell them just how much their music had meant to me during this difficult time.  I laughed with it, I cried with it, I rejoiced with it, and I prayed with it. Read more
