79 Cousins…

Seriously,

I have 79 cousins.

I know that sounds a little insane, but it’s true!

My Mom was from a family of 17 kids…and most of the cousins are from there – a whopping 63 of them! My Dad came from a family of 6 kids – a mere 16 cousins from there. Add in the 6 kids in my family and I think we officially define the term “brood”. Read more

Give a little whistle, Whoo-e-oo!

Things I have learned…

To trust my heart…About 3 months ago a friend of mine brought me her grandfather’s coat and asked if it would sell in our shop…I looked at it and fell in love, feeling that somehow it reminded me of my Dad. When I did my walk down memory lane a few days ago, I found a picture of my brother and I hugging my Dad when he got home from work…and he was wearing the exact same coat. (Well he had the same type of coat, not the exact same coat…just to clarify!) I never had brought the coat to the store…I couldn’t seem to part with it and now I know why. It’ll be in my possession from now on…I’ve even worn it a few times…what a fun memory to have. Read more

Entropy, Humbled and Honored

I am amazed, absolutely amazed by the people (men and women) that are liking and commenting on my blog.

I started this little adventure after encouragement from my friend Jan, (who will someday be a guest blogger on here).

I never expected that anyone but my close friends and family might read it, ok, never is too strong a word…I admit I secretly hoped it could turn into something bigger, but c’mon now – I’m just me…in little Ely, Minnesota.

I’m not trying to be all cutesy – “oh it’s just lil’ ole’ me”.

After all – God made me – I must be something special.

The North Pole threw up in our house.

The best laid plans….

I had great plans for writing a blog every day. And then life got in the way this week.

I think I even talked about it in my last post…ah, yes – “Tomorrow we’ll talk more about my Christmas decoration addiction”. See? I did have great plans. Well a few tomorrows later, here I am!!!
