My New Year Wish for You

May the New Year bring you love in your heart, joy for your soul, and peace in your mind.

May you enjoy the little moments.

May you look for the good in everyone.

And may you let yourself have silly moments.

Laugh at yourself…

enjoy life…

and leave the rest to God.

The Deep, Dark Well and the Bright, Shining Son

Imagine you’re in the bottom of a really deep well.

Overwhelmed and haunted by memories:

A loss that cut deep in your soul.  Arguments with loved ones.  A history of past abuse.  A history of deep shame.

Faith Barista: {Soul Rest Sunday} In the Secret Place. Hold On To Me.

Faith Barista is one of my favorite blogs.

While I may not read it as often as I could, I’m drawn to it at the times when I need it the most.

And this morning was one of those times.

I’m sharing this today, in the hopes that it may touch you as much as it did me.

Click on the link below and spend 5 minutes in peace.

Let’s try to carry that peace with us throughout the week:

Prayers for Carena, Prayers for Boston, Prayers for our World

A few days ago I wrote a blog post asking for everyone to Please Pray for Little Miss Carena.

In the days since I wrote the post, this little girl has gotten better, then went downhill, and is now in a holding pattern.  She’s one tough little girl but her neck where they took the lymph nodes is infected and they think it might be abcessed.  They’re treating her with a couple of different i.v. antibiotics but if they don’t kick it by tomorrow morning, they’ll have to go back in.

Please, please say more prayers for this little one.

And then this afternoon we see the news of the bombings in Boston.  At this point there have been two fatalities and over 110 injured.  Two bombs exploded while two others were found and taken care of without further injuries.  (Added on 4/19:  Obviously I made the mistake of watching CNN news.  This information later appeared to be false – there were no other bombs found.  The fatality rate is now up to 3 with the injuries over 140.)
