Sam, Sibling Rivalry and Laughing Until You Choke!

Having fun with daughters is the same as this Pinterest photo…and Sam and I went to Duluth yesterday and just like the photo says – we had WAY too much fun!

From trying on glasses frames…

To giggling about Β earlier days…

To almost choking to death in the process! Read more

“You’re so Cwabby?”

See this cute little hanging extender?

Well, I made it last week while Elena was here.

I love the little Hummingbird feeder, but it hung just way too high – we couldn’t see the little hummers feeding!

So off I went to find wire and my needle nose pliers.

Grab an end and twist…the other end and twist…

And Wha-laaaaaa!

It took all of 10 seconds.

I was so proud of myself!

I very loudly pronounced “I’M SO CRAFTY!”

Elena cocked her little head, looked at me and said “You’re so cwabby?”

I replied…”NO, NO, NOOOOOO”…”I’m so crafffffttttttyyyyy”.

She looked up at me again and said “Oh”.

And went off to play some more.

{sigh}

So much for my big proud moment…

It turned into a silly, giggle moment.

That’s ok, those are much more fun anyway!

I hope you have a good giggle today!

ps…Now that I look at it in the picture, I really could make it so much better…I might have to get craftier (not cwabbier). πŸ™‚

I Choose to NOT be Belligerent

Yes, I said it.

Let’s not just look at the things we choose to be…let’s look at the things we choose NOT to be.

We’ve all had people in our lives that have brought about a better understanding of who we want to be like or who we don’t want to be like.

As much as I loved my parents, there were things they did/said that I knew I didn’t want to emulate. Β And the same goes for other people that I’ve met throughout the years.

Sometimes it really is important to look at the things we don’t want to do or be like…and remember. Read more

“Are You Sick?” “No, I’m Just Not Wearing Any Makeup.”

Yes, just like the cartoon…this happened to me.

It was many years ago, when I was young and cute, skin shiny, face thin, some might have said beautiful.

Little did I know…that was only when I wore makeup.

Ok, let’s be honest…I almost NEVER left the house without makeup.

But then there was that one day I felt lazy,

And just needed a few things from the grocery store,

And I thought “This isn’t so bad”.

I mean…no one was running away in fear when they looked at me, I must not look that bad…maybe it had all been in my head all those years.

Then I saw my brother-in-law (my now ex-brother-in-law…and no – his comment had nothing to do with the divorce!)…

Mark took one look at me with a shocked, yet caring look on his face and said (ever so gently)…

“Are you sick?”

I burst out laughing and said “No, I’m fine – I’m just not wearing any makeup!”

Internally thinking…’Hrmph – lesson learned’.

I now wear makeup whenever I leave the house.

And very rarely does anyone ever think I’m sick!

And even when I am having a bad health day – people sometimes say “You look good!”

I just smile and say Thank You…

And whisper a little prayer…”Thank you God, for makeup!”

Flowers Soothe the Soul…

We’ve had some pretty weird weather here in northern Minnesota…

It seems as though my flowers are as confused as we are.

Not that I’m complaining – you see it has somehow made my tulips so confused that they’ve been blooming for almost two weeks!

Just take a peek! Read more
