Family Photo: Vintage Style

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this old photo of me and my siblings.

For many reasons actually…

The fantastic vintage outfits…

How cute all my siblings look…

My older sister looks so grown up with her fabulous dress, purse and shoes.

My four brothers in their adorable handsome outfits.

And then there’s me – I’m the little one holding the kitty.

His name was McGillicutty…and obviously I loved him, I think…

or maybe I’m trying to choke him…kind of hard to tell!

We have a few other pictures of him laying on the back of the couch watching my Dad outside working on his truck.

I’ll have to do a post on some of our old pets…that could be great fun!  We certainly had some interesting pets and interesting stories to go with them…the dog, the pigs, the cows, the cat, the horses.  Hmmmm…

Back to the fam…

I wish I knew what we were all dressed up for and where we were going, or where we had been…

What’s the story?

School?  Holiday?  Church?

And who was taking the picture?  Was it Mom or Dad?

I’ll have to give my sister a call and see if she knows.

Whatever the reason we were all dressed nicely for the time.

And if you look at the outfits from a fashion sense…

Everything we were wearing is back in style today!  The shift dress my sister has on.  The colored pants/jeans the boys are wearing.  The “vintage” look of the outfit my brother has on…the grey top with the stripe and grey pants.  The v-neck sweaters the boys are wearing.

However, some people look back at the old photos and say “What were we thinking!?!”

I know I have a 5 or 6th grade picture that’s horrendous!

Think Farrah Faucet hairdo…small purple framed glasses…and braces…

And to make matters worse, I was sitting all slouched forward…

Boy did I look like a winner!

But I obviously thought I looked gooooooood…

HAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahAHAHAHAHAHA!

It’s good to laugh at ourselves, we might as well…

Then we won’t have to feel bad when someone else looks at those photos and chokes back a laugh!

I may share some of those lovely little self portraits at a later date…
