A Kitchen Christmas

Welcome to my kitchen!
Remember when I told you my whole house changes over for Christmas?
Yes, even the kitchen.
There are a couple special pieces in my kitchen…
The “Our Father” sampler that you see is one that my Mom made when she was young. I absolutely love it and had Tim frame it with wood from an old door we found!
The ‘garland’ you see around it is made up of vintage cookie cutters that I found at Goodwill…I just tied them on some twine. I had the snowflake garland for a couple of years now and just didn’t know what to do with it. I think it makes a perfect addition to this garland!
As you can see the snowmen adorn the top of the refrigerator. I decided to get them out-of-the-way this year and it’s the perfect spot.
As you turn to the left you see the kitchen window. Of course I had to put a few Christmasy items up there too! I especially love the glass snowflake. I found it at our local Kess Gallery a few years ago.
And the potholder you see on the left of the shelf? I knew when I saw it that it was special. Not only did it remind me of my Mom, but it was hand stitched. The women I bought it from said that their Mom had done the stitching on it sometime before she passed away. What a treasure.
On the top of my metal cabinets I put a few more snowmen. Aren’t they ADORABLE? They’re some of my favorites!
On the top of the white wood cabinet, I’ve placed the gorgeous, bright snowman that I bought at the last buying show I went to when I owned our store. I LOVE it! I purchased many of my decorations at these shows at cost!
The wonderful ice bucket inscribed with the ‘O’ was a gift from my sister and her fiancé. I love the look of the shiny red balls inside!
And that’s it!
Our kitchen may be small, but I love it.
Next up…the front porch/craft/workshop area.
