I Choose to NOT be Belligerent

Yes, I said it.

Let’s not just look at the things we choose to be…let’s look at the things we choose NOT to be.

We’ve all had people in our lives that have brought about a better understanding of who we want to be like or who we don’t want to be like.

As much as I loved my parents, there were things they did/said that I knew I didn’t want to emulate. Β And the same goes for other people that I’ve met throughout the years.

Sometimes it really is important to look at the things we don’t want to do or be like…and remember. Read more

Flowers Soothe the Soul…

We’ve had some pretty weird weather here in northern Minnesota…

It seems as though my flowers are as confused as we are.

Not that I’m complaining – you see it has somehow made my tulips so confused that they’ve been blooming for almost two weeks!

Just take a peek! Read more

Sunday Blessings…

I admit it, I’m too tired to write a full post tonight.

Instead, I’m sharing my favorite blessing which is sung by our beautiful choir at the end of our church service.

(yes, I quietly sing along)

I hope this brings you into a wonderful week!

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you.

May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.

The Most INCREDIBLE Therapeutic Massage EVER!

If you know me, you know that I generally don’t spend money on massages.

Yes, I like getting a massage, I think most people do, but…there is that money thing…and I just can’t justify it with other bills to be paid.

HOWEVER,

It was recommended to me that I find someone who could do myofascial release, so I did some searching.

This woman, this Valerie Nesteruk, has not been trained in that area, and she stated as much when we talked. Β (Honesty…I like that.) Read more

YOU…ARE NOT…A MAN!

This was the funniest comment of the day courtesy of my friend Patty.

She had just asked me how I was feeling and how the shoulder recovery was going. Β I explained it was going great – 2 more months of PT – and then we’ll hopefully get the other shoulder fixed.

She looked at me incredulously and said: Β “WHAT DID YOU DO?”

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I explained about the rock wall…blah, blah, blah.

She looked at me and said “Why were you building a rock wall?”

To which I said: Β “I enjoy manual labor…and it’s beautiful!”

That’s when she said it.

“YOU…

ARE NOT…

A MAN!”

She went on to say, “Men say ARRRR” (making a growling sound)…”Women say aaaaahhhh” (making a sweet little sighing sound).

Needless to say, I haven’t laughed that hard in quite some time.

I told her “I’ll be sure to remember that the next time I get the urge to do manual labor!”

I’m still shaking my head and smiling…

I wish you could have heard her.

The way she said, so emphatically: Β “YOU…ARE NOT…A MAN!”

Yes, I will remember this Patty.

Thank you for the literal laugh out loud today!

I hope you readers had a good LOL moment today too!

Happy Saturday!
