I Was Slammed by a 3-Year-Old

Yes, it’s another Elena story!

It was a baby day today. Β Of course there were giggles, food, naps, and a little overall insanity once the cymbals and other musical instruments came out and the marching began.

And then there were the foam noodle fights, which were interrupted by moments of silliness where she directed where we were to place the noodles: Β as horns on our head, as a long nose, big eyes, big cheeks (on the face) and many more.

But the best moment of the day was when I told Elena to go and get the brush from the bathroom so I could brush her hair.

She looked at me and said “Because you can’t get it?”

BAM!

She did say it very sweetly, as though she were concerned about why I couldn’t get it. Β And I know a 3-year-old wouldn’t actually slam me…or would she?

Top 10 Things I Look Forward To…

So here it is…

My list.

The list of things I look forward to. Β This list is a combination of “bucket list” items and everyday items and “someday dreams” items. Β It’s not put into order by my most important item as #1, it’s more in timeline order.

As I sat down to write this list I realized there are so many more things I could put on here. Β The “little things”…like watching Gabi run cross-country races this fall, or her basketball games. Β Or seeing Sam off to her 2nd year at college…and the daily phone calls when she’s gone. Β Or the chances I get to see Alex, Tom and my adorable grandpuppy Louis (snorts and all). Read more

It’s been a day of fun for me and two of my girls…and Tim and Tom!

I wasn’t sure if Gabi was really going to be up to the task of consignment shopping, she is her father’s daughter after all. Β But then, she ever so valiantly tagged along for this part of the trip. Β We even found her a few new tops for school in the fall!

What was on the agenda, you ask? Read more
