Vintage Love: The Finds of The Day!

On that shopping trip Dr. visit trip with my daughter Sam last Tuesday, I found a few fantastic vintage pieces…

Just look at them…

Who remembers their Mom using her Tupperware measuring pitchers?  I do!

Ahhh…old Tupperware love…

We’ll save that for another post.

Do you recognize the pan?

Before I met my husband, my answer would have been “NO!”

However, now….now I tell you…

I couldn’t grab this pan fast enough off the shelf at Savers!

I turned it over…

Saw the 2.99 price tag…

And screamed said aloud “YESSSSS!!!  This is the find of the day!”

There may have even been a little fist pumping involved.

I’m sure I was quite a sight.

Thankfully Sam was over in the shoe section and didn’t see me…I’m sure if she had there would have been an eyeroll and a quick trip  to the next aisle.

This pan I’m so excited about?  It’s a Potica Pan.

If you’ve never had a taste of this treat, you don’t know what you’re missing.

The people (including my husband) who make it argue over how it should be made.

My husband makes the BEST walnut potica.   Hands down.

No brag.  Just fact.

But I digress…

This pan is no longer made…trust me our whole family has tried to find them.  My daughter found a few on E-Bay…but she had to pay something like $10-15 each for them.

Tim borrows his Mom’s.  You need 5-6 of them for each batch…which by the way takes all day to make!

It’s quite the process – during which he pretty much tells me to stay out of the kitchen.

Literally…

I’ve offered to help.  And he says “No thanks”.  Hrmph.

I’ve taken the hint…

After making the offer over and over again…

And being denied over and over again.

Alex just spent a day learning the process from Tim – and she realized that ‘no, I wasn’t kidding’!  He didn’t let her do any hands on either!

Oh well…

I’m more than happy to enjoy the finished product!

Have a great day!
