Cookies, Hershey’s and Crapola!

So it’s been an interesting day, to say the least.

It started at 4:30 this morning when my daughter’s alarm went off upstairs.  At about the same time I was trying to reconcile which account I’d taken $40 from…I’d picked up some items for a friend who was picking the pieces up from me today and paying me back.  But where to put it?  Ugh.

I crawled out of bed…grumbling, of course.  Made myself a cup of tea, grabbed the bag of Cranberry Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies (I’d picked up at the Farmer’s Market), and sat down with a good book.  Soon I realized there just weren’t enough chocolate chips in the cookies for my taste.  A hunting I will go (or went).  One Hershey bar later…breaking it into rows…put the cookie on top…and…WALAA!  Much better. Farmers Market Fun!

I love summertime here in Northern Minnesota!

Sunshine after a long winter, beautiful open lakes, sunrises and sunsets that glow the most beautiful colors.  There’s fishing, camping, hiking…the Dorothy Molter Museum, the International Wolf Center, the North American Bear Center…wonderful restaurants, fabulous shopping, and amazing spas.  There’s bird-watching, loon-calling, and amazing Northern Lights picture-taking.  But one weekly event stands above all others…

Today I bring you a touch of beauty via recycling.  Flowers and herbs planted in some fantastic, vintage pieces that I purchased.  They’ve been scraped, washed, and poly’d or painted!

They’ve all lived a good life, and I’ve re-purposed them so they may enjoy a NEW life!  Join me – 2 doors down from Ely’s Annual Blueberry Festival in Whiteside Park!  Will you give one of these lovelies a new home?

For pricing, you can look at my Facebook page:  A Thankfully Imperfect Woman!

Thanks for reading!  I promise to be back with fun stories soon!

Have a GREAT weekend!

The Never-Ending Basement Project

It’s the age old story of starting a project anticipating it will take about 3 days to finish.

You start off the first day with gusto…all geared up to get this project done.

For us the first day began with hauling out moldy storage (yes masks and garbage bags were utilized).

This mold arrived courtesy of a misguided attempt by the 12 year old to put away the dolls in a basement closet…which then did not have the ability to air out/dry out.  Hrmph. Read more

The Most INCREDIBLE Therapeutic Massage EVER!

If you know me, you know that I generally don’t spend money on massages.

Yes, I like getting a massage, I think most people do, but…there is that money thing…and I just can’t justify it with other bills to be paid.

HOWEVER,

It was recommended to me that I find someone who could do myofascial release, so I did some searching.

This woman, this Valerie Nesteruk, has not been trained in that area, and she stated as much when we talked.  (Honesty…I like that.) Read more
